This position requires a well organized and cooperative individual who learns quickly and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You must be able to work a flexible schedule to support the needs of clients, building tenants, and co-workers as well as have a proven track record of being reliable and responsible.

Responsibilities

  • Attend roll to review any communications from building and/or security management
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols.
  • Greet and direct all visitors, engaging them in a professional and direct manner.
  • Maintain and conduct access control for hospital and office buildings. Permit only authorized individuals to enter building.
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Monitor PC-based security/CCTV system and respond to any disturbances.
  • Maintain radio communication with all building personnel.
  • Maintain security presence in building. Serve as a deterrent for suspicious activity.
  • Respond and report all incidents pertaining to security and building operations.
  • Be capable of evaluating, investigating and reporting all types of security and law enforcement incidents. Complete incident reports if necessary.
  • Prepare daily paperwork including inventory or Daily Condition Report.
  • Regularly report to and take direction from Shift Managers.
  • Possess local and regional geographical knowledge in order to assist customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Prior security experience preferred.

  • Must have an excellent appearance and attitude (pride in your uniform and job is essential).

  • Must be customer-service oriented, organized, responsible and professional.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have an excellent attendance and job performance record.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Must be a motivated, self-starter with the willingness and ability to function with limited supervision.

  • Must be able to multi-task in a service oriented environment.

  • Must be flexible with scheduling and be able to hold over to the next shift or work extra hours as needed.

  • Knowledge of computer systems, tour wand technology, incident report management systems (ReportExec) and telephone.
